I’m off to New York City tomorrow and I want to pack light (imagine Erykah Badu’s Bag Lady playing whilst reading) as I always over do the shoes and dresses and April is always tricky because it’s raining one minute, then it’s blazing heat the next.
On my international travel, I have kept my makeup bag to a minimum, and i’ll let you have a sneak peak into what I consider Spike’s Essentials..

1)cotton wool pads- 2 packs for £1.09p from Boots
2)sample pot size of tinted moisturizer from Bobbi Brown- should last a week (hopefully)
3)Bobbi Brown lip pallette £21- 2008 collection with ‘best of’ colours for all occasions
4)Neal’s Yard travel kit- £25, with cute sized shampoo, conditioner, shower cream and body lotion
5)Smash Box trio eye shadow kit- £20- it has a colour for my brows, my brow bone and and day colour for lids
6) Tea Tree oil- £4- when all else fails, Tea Tree always has my back!
7) Estee Lauder makeup remover- £18, makes the hardest makeup dissolve in seconds (good for when I stroll into the loft apartment at 6am from a club)
8)Monoi Miracle oil-£10, The Body Shop’s best product- acts as a massage oil, hair oil and body oil! whoop!

That’s enough now. I’m sure you all get my drift. Please look out for my next article, at the end of April focusing on Mascara, I will be giving you an insight on how to apply it and what the best brands are. I will also be joining Fashion Platform as a beauty editor- that’s three online magazines i’ll be writing for!! (3 -is the magic number!)

2009 is mine (well..ours!) with new trends and looks. obviously, it’s still winter and I am a summer baby, but even i will be indulging in the frosty pasty natural look= nude lips, pale pink cheeks and the blackest eye liner you can find.

Here’s some help!

1) Laura Mercier’s sheer tone lipsticks 2) M.A.C’s feline eye pencil 3)Bobbi’s pale pink blusher suits all skin tones (universal shade)

My Top Five 2008 beauty tips or treats!

1) In first place, it would have to be Bobbi Brown’s Tinted Balm £34, containing Shea, Carrot and Lavender. Gives a lovely light coverage whilst keeping you hydrated in this god forsaken season!

2) Purple nail polish from H&M! At £2.99 a bottle, you can feel like a million dollars with this colour. (durability is the longest, but for the price you can not go wrong!)

3) Pink blush- now, i have loads so i’ll narrow it down to Desert Rose by M.A.C £13. Adds a fresh pop of colour to the dullest skin.

4) olive oil soap by The Body Shop LTD £3.50p. This oily skin type soap allows a glycerin cleanse without a greasy finish- my boyfriend loves it too!

5) Becca concealer £30. This duo concealer kit will make the smallest or biggest bags dissapear with minimum application- do yourself a favour!

and there it is.. my Top Five. get those new years presents in full swing, especially with the credit crunch sales.

The weather change has really kicked my arse- well, face and my skin doesn’t know whether to be dry or oily.

I’ve also had a recent break out- the first in donkey’s years and had to resort to my all time life saver- Tea Tree.

Tea Tree is one of nature’s favourite natural anti-bacterials, straight from Aussy Town which has been used historically to cleanse hair, skin, fungal and viral infections and even domestic apparatus! So, at £4 a bottle, this could be every girls all-purpose bottle of magic!

Winters only around the corner (unfortunately) and there’s two ways we can go about it: get frosty cold with nude lips or heat ourselves up with bold striking lips.. it’s all yours for the taking!
